Through the dust and corrugations that life can throw at a bloke Phil O’Brien has emerged as an optimist and a gifted observer of the people and the things around him. Phil is also an active live musical performer.
Owie Paroz 12:00
Owie has become a household name in the pub scene after moving to the Top End. Quickly becoming a local celebrity, Owie is now a standout in the Darwin music scene, performing his live acoustic sessions at pubs and clubs across the NT.

Chinese Drummers 6:30
Part of the Chung Wah Society’s Lion Dance troupe, the Chinese drummers are important to the tradition of the ceremonies. Performing the Lion Dance is believed to scare away evil spirits and brings forth good luck, joy, fortune and happiness for the year ahead.
Hot & Cold Big Band 7:00
The swinging-est big band in Darwin, they are a 17 piece band who perform music that you can dance to, from the swing era through to more contemporary jazz-rock interpretations.

3:00 France is Burning Gypsy Jazz
A Gypsy Jazz orchestra from Darwin, under the guidance of band leader Francis Diatschenko. They are a hard working band of jazz musicians that play jangly solos off to one another while rationing out the remaining red wine, rolling tobacco and waiting for rescue from the tropics.
5:00 caiti baker
Caiti Baker, is a Darwin born vocalist who was raised amongst music. After forming an electro-soul act with bass player and producer James Mangohig in her early 20s called Sietta. Caiti writes songs about what she knows and feels, sings with her soul and unashamedly performs the hell out of them.

7:00 Pete Murray
Byron Bay singer-songwriter and one of Australia’s most loved musicians Pete Murray found success with his music after releasing his debut album Feeler. Thanks to steady airplay on Triple J, the album entered the Aussie charts, and with the release of the third single, “So Beautiful,” the singer’s career exploded. Feeler reached number one, going platinum six times over. Murray’s third LP, See the Sun, peaked at number one as well. In 2017 Pete released his latest critically acclaimed album ‘Camacho’ which he toured nationally across Australia.

TNRM will be hosting a panel session and facilitated Q&A with primary producers and industry representatives with the common goal of increasing soil health. Together, they will explore the importance of looking after the land, and providing the vital link between healthy soils and healthy, quality produce.

Winners
Bluchung (blachan/belacan) is another adopted Asian addition to Darwin Cuisine, popular among older Darwin families and has been around for a long time. In Darwin, “Bluchung” refers to the cooked condiment made from the paste. Hear from our judges about Bluchung, it’s origin, uses, and watch the presentation of the winners of the 2019 Territory Taste Festival Bluchung Competition.
